Condolences to Korea

Picture 4

It is a very sad day, the funeral of South Korea’s former president Roe Moo Hyun (노무현) he was a wonderful man who came from humble beginnings to achieve the highest office in his country. I want to pass on my condolences to both the Korean people and to his family.

In addition, HM Queen Elizabeth has also written to the Korean people expressing the following words:

“It is with a great sense of shock and sadness that I have heard of the untimely death of former President Roh Moo-hyun.  His State Visit to the United Kingdom in 2004 represented an important milestone in the relationship between the United Kingdom and the Republic of Korea.  I extend to the Korean people my condolences at this time of sorrow.”

The above picture is how I want to remember Mr Roe – with that fantastic smile. May he rest in peace.
